How Will You Honour The Women In Your Life?

March 4, 2010

International Women’s Day is Monday March 8th

What is International Women’s Day?

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, IWD is a national holiday. Read more at www.InternationalWomensDay.com

Interestingly, in Quebec we hold this day in very high esteem, perhaps more so than any other province. Many of our corporate customers, like Bombardier for example, celebrate this day by offering flowers to all the women at the company. Some businesses choose to offer a single bloom (like a Rose or Gerbera) to each and others offer small blooming plants or fresh flower arrangements. Over the years we’ve noticed that some people are now choosing to show staff appreciation on this day rather than Administrative Professionals Day in April (previously known as Secretary’s Day). Order early to ensure best prices and selection. Call us at 514-683-3533.

Although this is a great opportunity to express appreciation for the women in your life at work, remember those closest to you too. Whether with flowers or not, take the time to pay tribute to your mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter and friends on this day. You might be surprised how even the smallest gesture will make her feel special to you. Pick up a bouquet on your way to lunch or home or browse www.terrafolia.ca for flower delivery ideas.
